7 Days Tibet To Nepal Tour is one of the best tour itineraries for people visiting Tibet. Because this itinerary is an overland journey from Lhasa to Kyirong, the trip ends at the border of Tibet, China, and Nepal. More importantly, you will visit Mt. Everest Base Camp and spend the night there.
On the way, you’ll pass by various Tibetan spiritual and culturally rich traditional monasteries, as well as gorgeous lakes, mountains including Mount Everest, and breathtaking sceneries. Furthermore, our tour itinerary is planned so that you will have plenty of time to adjust to the altitude.
Our Tibetan guide and Tibetan driver greet you at the airport or train station with a white scarf. This is a very traditional way of greeting a friend in Tibet.
The distance from the airport to Lhasa city is around 60 kilometers, while the distance from the train station to Lhasa is approximately 15 kilometers. We take it easy on the first day to acclimate to the altitude.
ATTRACTIONS:- Potala Palace (Winter Resistant of the Dalai Lama), Norbu Lingkha Palace (Summer Resistant of the Dalai Lama), Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Streets & Sera Monastery;
The tour program for Days 2 and Day 3 is designed to help you acclimatize to the altitude in Lhasa City. You will be touring some of Tibet’s most beautiful landmarks in the meantime. These icons include the Potala Palace (Dalai Lama’s Winter Palace), Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street, Norbu Lingkha Palace, and Sera Monastery.
The Sera Monastery is one of the most intriguing places to see, and I strongly advise you to go there in the afternoon while the monks are debating Tibetan Buddhist philosophy.
We must obtain a Visiting Time Ticket to enter the Potala Palace. We must plan accordingly based on that. Because of this, when you get to Lhasa, kindly give our guide your passport.
ATTRACTIONS:- Gampala Pass(4,900m), Yamdrok Lake, Nyinchen Khangsar Range, Karola Glacier, Pelkhor Choede Monastery& Tashi Lunpo Monastery;
On Day 4, you will depart Lhasa to drive across the countryside. The first attraction of the day will begin with traversing the Gampa La, a pass that rises 4,900 meters above sea level.
From the summit of the Gampa La Pass, you will enjoy a bird’s-eye view of Lake Yamdrok, also known as the turquoise lake due to its unique appearance. The Great Guru Padmasambhava meditated near Yamdrok Yutso Lake for three months and three days, making it one of the holiest lakes. During the auspicious periods of the Tibetan Lunar Calendar, Tibetans do a circumambulation around Lake Yamdrok in gratitude.
If the sky is clear and blue, you may also view the Nyinchen Khangsar Range, which has a peak that rises to a height of 7,300 meters.
On this day, you will cross another high pass named Karola Pass, which has a height of 5,000 meters.
From the Karola Pass, you will also see Tibet’s 7th biggest glacier (Karola Glacier).
The Pelchoe Monastery will be your next stop. The monastery was founded in the 15th century, and it still has some of the original murals, dating back to that era.Â
Kumbum Stupa is located on the same premises as Pelchoe Monastery. The Kumbum Stupa has 9 floors and 108 cells in the building. The structure itself is a symbol of the Buddha’s body, speech, and mind. The stupa is also designed like a sacred mandala, which is a visualization tool used by Buddhists to train their minds on the journey to enlightenment.
ATTRACTIONS:- Traditional Tibetan local villages, Gyawo La Pass, Himalayan Ranges, Mt. Everest Base Camp, Rongbuk Monastery ;
Day 5 will be thrilling because Mt. Everest will be right in front of you. This day will cover another 350 km, but the drive will be worthwhile because you will cross incredible high mountains, such as Gyawo La Pass (5,100 m). From the summit of the Gyawo La Pass, you can have a breathtaking view of the Himalayan Ranges as well as all five of the world’s Eight-Thousanders. These eight-thousanders include Mount Everest, Mount Lhotse, Mount Makalu, Mount Quowuyu, and Mount Shishapangma.
Continue your overland journey through Tibetan villages that are higher than 4,600 meters, and you will see how the Tibetans inhabited these mountains.
Our tour guide will also take you to visit Rongbuk Monastery. This monastery is located at a height of 5,000 meters, making it the highest in the world. This monastery has a history of roughly 1,300 years, and Padmasambhava meditated here as well.
The sunset view of Mt. Everest will wash away all your sorrows and replace them with the simple awareness of being alive.
ATTRACTIONS:-Â Mt. Shishapangma, Peiku Tso Lake, Mountainous Alpine Forest, Kyriong Valley;
Day 6. In the early morning, we drive to Kyirong. The distance from Mt. Everest Base Camp to Kyriong is 350km. Driving will take around 7 hours. As we drive near the Peiku Tso Lake, we will have a fantastic view of Mt. Shishapangma (8027m), the only mountain above 8000 meters that is entirely in Tibet. After passing Gongtang La Pass, we steadily descend into the Kyirong Valley along a series of switchback bends. The arid climate gives way to a warm, damp environment.
Today is the last day of your 7 Days Tibet To Nepal Tour. It’s time to say goodbye to your tour guide and driver. They will meet you at your hotel lobby and drive to the Tibet Nepal Border. The distance from the Kyriong town to the Border is around 15km, it may take around 20 minutes to get there.Â
